Hello, I've had this weird problem for about 6 months and I still could not manage to fix it.
so basically, when opening, for example, CSGO without fps cap, after playing it for about 2-3 minutes game randomly freezes and I have to open task manager to close game and restart it.
I managed to fix it by capping fps at 100 and it almost stopped it from happening but it still freezes sometimes.
it's not only in CSGO, but I also tried to play witcher with the capped frame rate at 60, low settings full HD, played it for like 5-7 minutes and it froze again.
someone recommended changing the hard drive, I added SSD and installed CSGO and witcher on there but it still did not fix
I also ran Windows RAM diagnostic tool, it said ram had no problems
tested CPU alone on Cinebench r20 it completed without any problems
ran furmark test on GPU with 8X MSAA 1440x900 (native) resolution, after leaving it for 10 minutes max temp it got was 70C
also ran Unigine Heaven benchmark is completed without any problems.
P.S windows don't freeze, only games do, when game freezes I can easily alt+tab open task manager close game from there and continue using my pc
my pc specs are
I5 3470 (average temps at full load 70-75C with box cooler)
GTX 670 2GB (furmark 8X MSAA max temp 70C)
8GB G Skill RAM 1600Mhz
800W PSU
350GB Hard Drive (75% health)
128 GB Samsung SSD (100% Health brand new)( i added it after someone told me it could be faulty hard drive)
btw its 35C ambient in my country CPU and GPU temps get even lower
please, someone, help me to fix it, I don't know what to do anymore.
