Games are literally lagging. (not due to connection though) Need help :(

Since last week, my computer cannot run any games smoothly. I tried running MW3 and Project Blackout. For Mw3, the graphics are horrible and loading takes forever. For Project Blackout (which isn't a demanding game), I got like 12 fps. Even after running only Project Blackout on a Samsung SSD, I got the same results.


Pc Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate/ 64-bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte M68MT-S2
Processor: AMD FX-4100 3.6 ghz
Memory: 8192 MB RAM
DirectX 11
AMD Radeon HD 7850
Samsung 840 120GB SSD


I unplugged my original HDD and only downloaded Project Blackout on the SDD, along with a fresh install of Win 7. I uninstalled previous AMD card's drivers and installed the 7850 drivers from given disc. I'm confused Plz help

I also have an Antec 1200 psu, so that shouldn't be the problem. These games ran fine before, I don't know what happened

i think it is a great computer but how old is it, do you have ddr2 or 3 ram and do you plays games on high all the time and what case is it in? You could try taking the heatsink off, cleaning off the old thermal paste and re-applying new thermal paste.

update your video drivers they do not update on there own. Even on auto update. so update them again and make shore you are on the AMD website only.

I have ddr3 RAM. My graphic drivers should be up to date.

Once I loaded a game, the cpu usage on task manager stays around 28-32%; Sometimes it slightly jumps to 40%. The fps is still around 12.

did you run the game with CPUID HWMonitor open and the cpu temp is not showing so download http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ task manager is Normal so you do not need to look at that

4 cores you only have 1 core on why? sorry go into task manager performance send me a pict of that

ok old games work with one core so all you have to do is go to task manager processsers look for the game in processsers and right click on the game and go to affinity and make shure that all the cores are on or refresh it, each time if this works. mw3 i do not know sorry but if it is on 1 core then that is the problum maybe?
