Games are taking ages to connect to a server?

Hello!

I recently bought a new GPU, the Gigabyte RX 460 4GB.

I was playing Rocket League today and as you can expect, it runs a lot better now that I have my new GPU compared to my old integrated one. But, the loading times are noticeably longer to get into a lobby and this makes no sense what so ever. Sometimes I can't even join a game and the match is cancelled because I take so long. This could be something to do with my internet speeds but I tested it, here is the results:

Ping - 16ms
Download - 18.56 mbps
Upload - 4.22 mbps

I shouldn't be getting these kinds of speeds as I am on Virgin Media's 200mbps package I believe and I am using a Netgear Powerline 500 to access the internet.

I am thinking it is something to do with the CPU and something in the background hogging all the power. I am using quite a budget one and definitely thinking of upgrading to a better one but reconnecting all the wires puts me off as I am quite clueless when it comes to this and I don't want to mess anything up! :)

Thank you for any replies!

As your internet is running slower than it should, i would recommend restarting your internet box by unplugging it, waiting around 20-30 seconds then plug it back in, doing this solves many internet problems. After you do this test your speeds again and see if that is fixed then try loading into a game again. If you want you could also try re-syncing your Netgear boxes, but i would just try restarting the internet first.

When im idling, the thing that takes up the most % of my CPU is Task Manager itself with around 4-7% usage when open.

When i'm playing a game, for example, Rocket League, the CPU usage is much higher and I usually have Discord open in the background as i'm talking to my friends.

Takes ages for me to connect to a game which isn't right as it was not happening before I upgraded my GPU, which makes no sense at all as it should be quicker. I'm thinking it is the CPU and the bottleneck of the GPU possibly? I am looking at the Corsair CXM 450W power supply.

Yeah, it started a couple of days ago when I installed my new GPU, which is a big upgrade from my integrated GPU. It used to be fine before upgrading. I'm confused! :/
