Games coming out too light on new Dell U2414H monitor

Hi, I am new to this site so am not sure if im posting in the correct place.
I have just bought a new monitor from Dell but the games are coming out very light. The monitor has been calibrated and looks perfect on the home screen and documents, web pages all look contrasty and fine. As soon as I start a game eg thief the blacks look dark grey. Do I need to adjust my graphic card settings somehow?
I have an Asus gtx770 graphics card

Shouldn't there be video settings in the games?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I can darken the game "in game" but this just makes the whole screen darker. I am looking to increase the contrast I suppose so it looks more like my last Samsung monitor which is 8 years old but looks far better.

Solved! It seems this problem is caused by Nvidia sending wrong colour signal (‘Limited Range RGB 16-235’ instead of ‘Full Range RGB 0-255’). http://pcmonitors.info/reviews/dell-u2414h and it can by fixed by running a small program
