Hello,
I run ATI radeon HD4650 with win7 ultimate. My problem is that all games crash after some time. However games like shift and crysis crash right after loading.Games like GTA4 and Assassins creed 2 run for two hours approx.
thanks

Yep... never bother with 32-bit anymore... probably never run 32-bit Windows again.

This post is about someones who's ISNT running great, and there's a theme here, there are about 20 people on this forum as I type with the same exact issue with Win7, and it's amazing how MS themselves issue a statement confirming graphical issues and for some reason YOU still don't believe it because yours runs great.

Apparently you don't read... or at least your comprehension is lacking...

So while the problem you state may exist, it doesn't fully explain why this doesn't occur all the time.

Notice how I didn't deny the existance of the problem... only that MS's statement on the issue doesn't provide enough explanation. No need to take it personally... as it is MS's statement, not yours. Unless, of course, you work for Microsoft...

I'm a little skeptical that an announced, but not yet patched security hole in the Windows 7 graphics system is responsible. The mere existence of the flaw does not mean it is responsible for the issues the OP is experiencing. I'm also curious about these other threads that detail the same problem (that weren't confirmed by the thread starter as caused by something else). Could you link us to a few of those zipzoom?

Perhaps there is an overclock and / or voltage increase on the PCI-E bus that's causing this? Or perhaps a faulty power supply?

I'm open to the graphics security flaw idea being the culprit, but I won't believe it until a patch is released and the OP here confirms that the issue has stopped after installing said forthcoming patch.

For the record, I am patch current on Windows 7 x64 running a eVGA GTX 295, and am not having this issue myself.

With all due respect, as zipzoomflyhigh mentioned it is VERY suspicious how everyone is having these issues with Windows 7, independently of video card (I have a Radeon HD5670 but I see many people with Nvidia and other ATI models, different specs etc...all in common is the OS). I am using exactly the same computer I used in the past with Vista. In Vista games ran fine (the odd crash every few months but nothing regular ans systematic as I experience now). As soon as I formatted the disk and installed Windows 7 home premium fresh, I cannot play anything more advanced than tetris from Mr Pajitnov without crashing.

So I am sorry but this is quite clearly a problem with Windows 7...or to say differently now Microsoft is expecting everyone else (Game programmers, Video card manufacturers) adapt to their changes instead of producing something that works and is compatible with what is out there in the market already.

Shame on them
