I just recently started building a new PC and I put it all together (minus a graphics card, saving up for one) and it was running perfectly fine until I tried to play a game other than LoL (battlefield 3, garry's mod, natural selection 2). I don't know what's causing it; whenever I launch a game my whole computer just freezes up and I have to manually restart it.

Specs:
-i5 3570k @3.4GHz
-ASUS Maximus V Formula
-Corsair Vengeance 8Gb RAM @1600MHz
-Corsair H60 Cooling
-WD Black 1Tb 7200rpm HDD
-Corsair HX750 PSU
Is this a driver error or what? I can't seem to figure it out.

My friend gave me the mobo and cpu from his gaming pc that he upgraded recently. He used them to play the games, but other than that no. I just built it yesterday.

1) What is your monitor resolution?
2) What is your games setting?
If you run the games in high setting then the problem is your intel HD4000. You need to low the games settings to minimal for BF3 or natural selection 2. Here is BF3 http://www.game-debate.com/news/?news=2128

do you have an aftermarket cooler or stock?

what are you temps on idle and full load?
