Games freezing randomly

The title might seem like a software problem but I recently reset my computer with the windows reinstallation disk so I don't think its a program causing it.

The reason I need help is because my games are randomly freezing after I play them for a Little bit. There isn't really a common theme with how frequently they occur but I never get to play for more than a few minutes. Right now I have 3 games since I reset my computer. CSGO, H1Z1, and Rocket league. On csgo I get a error where it says "total static audio channels have been used: 96" and then it freezes and I have to ctrl+alt+del to make it start running correctly again just to get the same error minutes later. I tried to fix this error for a long time, and eventually gave up and tried to play other games but NO games will let me play for more than a few minutes.

I have updated all my sound drivers but the problem never stopped. On h1z1 the game just stops responding.. Same on rocket league. Also minecraft acts like it is lagging in single player, I can break blocks but they don't drop.

Last night I took out one of my sticks of ram and was able to play two death matches without haveing this issue and was able to play h1z1 for 15 minutes before going to sleep and I thought it was fixed. But after windows made me install 3 critical updates this morning it was broke again..

I need help figuring out what is making my games stop responding.

My gpu is cool enough. Around 50 Celsius usually when running a game. I Thought my psu could be the problem but best buy told me that the psu can't fail on a desktop and it couldn't be the problem. My motheeboard might be to blame? Idk anything about motherboards. My computer is only about 2 years old. Any suggestions will help. I cannot try any suggestions until later tonight, I'm at college right now and have to drive home before I can try any. I really don't want to have to break down and take it to best buy and spend a couple hundred for them to just look at it.

Almost forgot: here are my specs off the top of my head, tell me if you need any more info.

-Gpu gtx GeForce 770 4gb
-i7 4770 processor
-motherboard is gigabyte1150 socket. Ga-z87x-hd3
Power supply is 600 watt
-I have two monitors
-sound blaster audigy r/x I think
-2 tb hard drive.. I have defragmented it.
-Ram is 2x8gb sticks ripjaws. It is a red stick, don't know specs off the top of my head.
-k70 rgb red cherry keys keyboard
-rival series optical gaming mouse
-astro a50s
I have the two fans on my gpu and two more fans in my case. The heat shouldn't be the problem.
..trying to think of everything, hope I got it let me know if I skipped something

Thanks,

I did run the Furmark for about 5 minutes to try to check my temps, but not for an hour. I can try that later tonight and see if my system freezes. I won't be able to provide info about my power supply for about 2-3 more hours when my mom gets home she can send me a picture. I don't know what brand it is or anything about it right now. Should I try picking up a new power supply from best buy on my way home to test it tonight, or wait until I can try to see if its the problem?

Taking one of my ram cards out last night really helped and took the problems away until i fell asleep and installed some updates the next morning from microsoft. Could 1 or both of my ram sticks be bad? I restored back to when my computer worked last night, this morning, and it was no longer working.

Also, will the event viewer tell me why the games are freezing up? Could I use it to try to find the source of the problem?

I just got home and tested my brothers new ram in my computer and the freezing still occured, so I do not think it is the ram.

Also, when I just tried running the furmark burn-in - about 10 seconds in my gpu usage went to 99% and my computer was freezing every few seconds and the internet stopped working. I have a usb thing to get wifi. netgear n-300

EDIT: It seems like that only happens when i click off the screen onto my other screen

It seems like when my graphics card hits about 50-60 degrees Celsius it tries to stop itself to cool down? It won't continue the furmark when the card reaches that temp then my computer freezes up every few seconds

Testing my brothers gpu - geforce 970 - so far its working perfectly..

Something is wrong with my gpu. I don't know what. I put it in my brother's computer and it works.. but while its in his computer it is unable to get past 30 degrees celcius. The gpu isnt allowed to get any hotter, it is sacrificing fps to be cool. His gtx 970 works great in my computer

Edit: His computer is using the intel graphics 4800 or whatever that is built into his board.. Its not using the gpu to do the furmark test. I'm done trying to fix for tonight. I'll try some more tomorrow morning or after class tomorrow.

It detects both gpus, it even puts the 770 first. But when I click the burn in test it only tests the intel 4600 I think.

One of his monitors is plugged into the motherboard I think, so that is probably why it is using the intel one

Edit: yes, now that I unplugged the other monitor that was connected to the motherboard it ran the 770, but its wierd.. It can do the burn in test without just freezing and stopping at about 55 degrees celcius, its at 81 right now

I turned the fans up to 100% and the temp got to about 65 celcius, I moved the fan speed to 75% and its getting around 75 degrees celcius. Is this a okay temp? and i'm using msi afterburner. It still is really hot and burns to the touch, it didn't get that hot in my system.

I tried putting the cover back on to his computer and the temps rocketed to 80 celcius with the fans at 100%, but it hasent froze yet. but his card is working fine in my computer as far as i can tell, could there be something wrong with my computer that is causing the gpu to just stop working at 50 celcius? I don;t know anything about bios, but could it be stopping my card at 50 degrees? or could something else be doing it

You mean putting my 770 back into my computer and seeing if it will work?

The 770 still starts to freeze up after it hits about 50 celcius. It doesn't when it is in my brothers computer, and his graphics card, the 970, doesn't have any problems running in my system.

ok i've never changed a psu before but i'll try and update you when i get them changed out
