Recently i just upgraded my mother board, cpu and ram. Everything seems to run great except games will freeze randomly, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Rainbow Six Siege and Playerunknowns Battlegrounds as of right now that i have played. Not sure whats going on since my cpu is running at no more than 20% when i notice the freeze and memory around 50%. I get no error messages just a game freeze that usually requires me to reboot my system in order to unfreeze. All games are installed on my OS Solid state along with steam and uplay. Here is a list of specs for my pc. Please help me if anyone knows what the issue could be. If you need any additional information let me know and i will get back ASAP.

OS- Windows 10 Pro
Motherboard- MSI z270 Krait Gaming
Cpu- i7 7700k Kaby Lake
Gpu- GTX 780
Ram- 16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz (2x8gb sticks)
PSU- Corsair CX750M

Buy a new PSU! And get a 1080. Sounds like your gaming games that needs abit more then the 1070 can give you.

The GPU can take alot more heat then 70°C so it's not a thermal issue here more a current fault or simply a Card thats past its time.

Get a new PSU and Card... Would be a shame if your new components would be destroyed.

And keep in mind, that a overcurrent fault will not always show its damage in the start. You may get a fault on your MOBO in a month or CPU. But I highly doubt it, since the new versions of mobo have better protection against faults.

I cant put my PSU under load tho because it wont boot up with the graphics card used as the display source... Well it will but I wont get a screen. I can still boot up and the pc run fine with the graphics card plugged in and power to it but I have to use my motherboard as the video source not the card.

okay, and yes both fans work on the gpu. Im not sure honestly if the gpu has lights. Its an EVGA GTX 780. I know that no lights kicked on in the gpu if there are suppose to be lights.

okay do you know of any software? all I have is MSI Afterburner. Also if it does not work I know best buy has a 750watt power supply I can get and try. Will a 750watt be enough to run my system if I purchase a gtx 1080 SC?

okay so i cleared cmos and still will not detect my gpu. i went through the manual and i do have onboard lights that will light up depending on what major component the motherboard does not detect and it is the gpu light that comes on during boot... so is it safe to say now that it is my gpu and not power supply?

i do not have another card to test.... im not sure.. motherboard seems to work fine anywhere else.. im okay with buying a new gpu.. just not sure i want the 1070 or 1080, but should i buy another psu as well? i know cards can just go bad but i deff dont want a new card going bad on me

the only two components that are not new in my system is the gpu and the psu... which like i said before ive had this same brand psu fail on me out of nowhere while having that card in the system.. just weird these symptoms didnt start showing till after i upgraded to more powerful components and gaming at higher settings... i was pushing the gpu in Wildlands but i never noticed any temps over 70 degrees C

Okay sounds good man! Thank you for all the help tonight. Should i still stick with a 750watt then? will 80 plus bronze be okay if so? Ill go to microcenter later tonight or tomorrow to pick the stuff up

No get a new PSU! If you have the slightes assumption that your psu is at fault, replace it ASAP.

If its a good quality PSU maker bronze is fine. It only shows how efficiently it is. How much pure energy goes into thermal energy.

I meant when i buy a new psu should i still stick with the 750 watt or move up to 850. i have only bought corsair when it comes to psu's but im not honestly sure what the better brands are

Corsair or EVGA is a great choice for your PSU.

Try to see what they are selling and Google the brands/models for reviews.

750 Watt is plenty of power and gives you headroom for OC your system. If you wanna have a economically system you should buy a 1000 W PSU. A PSU has its best performance at 50% load, but WHO cares about the Money spent on electricity :)

Go for a 750W PSU Bronze or silver - No need to go Gold or platinum.

ill see what deals are at micro center. they have just as good as prices as anyone online will. very solid and reasonable computer parts store. so ill make the drive to get the parts sooner and hopefully all goes well from now on! Thank you again for the help! i was really wishing it was just the psu but hey it gives me a reason to complete my gaming upgrades even sooner lol
