Games/ OCCT PSU test rebooting PC ( PSU Problem?)

After adding a 970OC, your system will draw maybe 300W at peak, and idle in the 50-90W range. Below 10% even platinum PSUs have under 85% efficiency, usually much lower. Though people always spit out that "double the maximum draw" garbage, nobody actually does the math! Maximum efficiency will be at a point lower than the maximum draw for almost all systems, since you won't be at 100% capacity all the time even if you gamed 24/7 (since the equipment will fluctuate greatly, always under the peak draw and only averaging the average draw but staying more time at a lower and higher state)

Not wanting to wait is a perfectly valid reason though, and usually worth the money 😉

I have another question. I couldn't place the PSU with fans facing down because of stiff and short connector cables, so the fans are currently facing up. Also the side panel with intake fan is off since I need to do some cable management before I can put it back on.

My current setup is: PSU at bottom with fans facing up. Graphics card above the PSU with fans facing down.

Will this result in hotter operating temperatures for the PSU compared to PSU fans facing down since currently graphics card and PSU are both pulling air from the same space in different directions?

Will it affect other PC components? My GPU doesn't really get hot even when the fans are at low rpm s. I can easily increse fan speeds to counter added temperature.

What role would adding the side panel with a large intake fan play?

Eadan1, thanks for your concerns!

I've been having the same issues as yours and i tried most of things you did too, but i couldn't find out the problem's source. I'm willing to buy another PSU too. Anyways, i really appreciated your description of your pc dilema. How did you manage to get all those monitoring data like voltages, temperatures, etc while having those reboots? I'd like to learn those things too.

Thanks!
