Question Gaming 27 monitor to buy now

Good afternoon.

Pls. advise what to buy now, at the end of October 21.
I'm already confused by all those reviews.
I need size 27 (now 24)
Budget is flexible.
I need it for games. I don't really want a curved screen.
Currently run GTX 980 card.
Do I understand correctly that 4k at 27 inches will be too small resolution? My resolution now is Full HD.
2k resolution is the best for 27 displays?

Unless you are playing older games even a 980 has issues at 1440p and 4k is just not a good option. If you game I would stick with 1080p for sure unless you plan to upgrade your video card.

What games do you play and what FPS goal do you have in mind?

I will move to RTX 3080 or similar soon. I play platforms and racing and I dont have any issues on ultra setting.
