Gaming Build for WoW and Skyrim

Budget Range: $650-$850

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Games(wow), internet, movies, general misc, schoolwork

Parts Not Required: Need everything except OS, and i'm pretty set on a mouse and keyboard so i already took that off the budget (razer naga/ razer anansi around 150 for both so total budget would be $800-$1k)

Parts Preferences: intel as a preference but willing to go with what ever will work best for my wants

Overclocking: Nope

SLI or Crossfire: Nope

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: want it to run wow at ultra settings no problem, and run skyrim on anything better than xbox quality

Maybe consider skimping on your keyboard and mouse so that you can build a much better computer. In that range of 650 to 850, an additional $100 could get you much better supplies. You could go weak and spend $50 on keyboard and mouse just to have a doable set for a little while, and after getting your $100 cooler computer built, start planning over the next month or so to get the amazing keyboard and mouse setup you really desire. Then you can keep the old setup and after you spill coffee all over your beautiful keyboard and mouse, you will have your original set to back you up in the meantime.

Seriously, with this type of build, from what I understand, an additional $100 bucks to spend an computer innards can go a really long way.

Both of those suggestions by cmadrid and kajabla are good ideas. But you definately can't go wrong w/ the Tom's build, right?!?

However, the cmadrid build combo for $560 does offer you an i5-2500k and a larger 650W powersupply than the Tom's build which has an AMD processor and a 430W PSU... If you opt for cmadrid's combo you'll need to pick up a graphics card, which you could probably fit a decent one in there for the remaining $150 plus tax to = $850 budget.

The Tom's build is probably a great starting point.

Your right though, monitor should be considered in price per Original Poster.

That 'super combo' I posted is a decent starting point, you can definitely fit in a cheap heatsink like hyper212+ a video card and monitor and stay on budget =)

will this all work together? will it run wow on ultra with 60fps everywhere(asuming a 1920x1080 resolution)? will it handle skyrim ok when it comes out? please recommend any changes or suggestions to optimize this build, only thing i'm set on is the mouse lol. would like to lower price but not at cost of running wow much lower quality, willing to increase price if needed

Just so you know, WoW favors Nidia cards. Also that Biostar board you have up there is meant for a single card build. It runs dual cards @ x4 and that Corsair psu you have up there is manufactured by CWT and is pretty crappy by industry standards. You need to look for some combo's. Your sticking money in the wrong places. I posted $40 RAM, or use the 2500K and combo it with RAM.

I think you'd be happier with a $200 24" monitor and slightly weaker parts. Remember that it's the experience that matters, not the settings.
Why, he's not doing Xfire, so the mobo doesn't matter.
