I'm making a new build with a budget of $570.
Cpu: I'm between an i3 3220 and an FX-4170
RAM: 8gb of the cheapest i can get
Storage: I was looking at solid state hybrid drives but i don't know if they're any good? (at least 500gb)
Case: HEC Blitz Black Steel Edition ATX Mid Tower Computer Chassis
O.S.: I have to get one new and i dont have a previous version of windows so i cant go the 8 upgrade route
PSU: I was looking at this PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817339002 (hope to keep it for future builds maybe?)
Mobo: I would like 6.0 gb/s and 5.1 audio but not a neccesity
Video card: I have a XFX 6770 but im kinda thirsting for more frames I was thinking of going xfire but my monitor is only 1600 x 900 i was looking at a 6870 for 150 is it better than a 7770 ?

I'm open to all suggestions. Please point me in the right direction?

6870 is a stronger card and outperforms the 7770 regularly, however games that rely on newer engines will favour the 7770 slightly more. Generally they perform similar with 6870 coming on top alot. I have a 6870 in my comp and there are 0 problemos

Just a quick response, the fx is better, the 6870 is definitely going to outperform the 7770, I am using the xfx 2gb edition and it spanks, my 965 amd is holding me back. Windows disk is going to nerf your budget by 100 bucks. I'd look into creating your own boot dis.

I am trying to get ya going but this budget is tight for you to be able to basically have my set up. Here is what I got...

Case

Mobo

Processor

Ram

Power Supply

HDD

Video Card

This is total=628, with no keyboard, and no optical drive. The places where skimp room is available = Power Supply, Hard Drive, and Graphics card but there should be no skimp there. How tight is the budget can we go over? And this is before shipping. To ship these parts to my address, it is 1.93.

Ok we skimped on the HDD and Power Supply. Which means ingame loading times will be pretty bad but im sure an improvement to what ya got. Overall your system is good you could play skyrim at 60fps all times max settings with this build. Total Price: 568.92

No optical drive which is 20bucks, No keyboard which is like 5 bucks, And you have the windows disk issue. After you have your bootable disk, you install it through a cdrom that you have lying around the house hopefully and your golden, install windows, activate it through a key, and return the cd rom from whoever's cellphone you took it from lol. This is some major budget building which is why I love AMD, I had to do this years ago.

Not sure, irrelevant you can do that within CCC settings yourself in a jiffy. With these changes you saved 18 bucks. I am not sure you can install windows through a USB. You do bio flashes and things but windows? I don't think so. If I am right we need to cut back on the card to get a dvd/dvd burner/keyboard. Hopefully I am wrong though. Overall 18 bucks saved for much less hardware. Especially on that motherboard.

How'd it go up? I'm at 568 with original components. And that's before rebates. Skimping on the HD anymore not really.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103962 6 core processor, 105

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231313 4gig ram x 2 = 44

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152244 320gig hdd 16mb cache 7200rpm 50

Total = 568. 7 bucks under. And if you are botting windows from usb, you don't need a cd rom. You can buy a keyboard for 3 bucks.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823201029 6 bucks I stand corrected.

Shipping included, its 580 for this with the keyboard.

Think your cart has some of the first post items in it, redo what I got here.
