Hey there! The new E3 trailers came out just the other day, and I was looking to play Battlefront 3, Black Ops 3, and Fallout 4. Unfortunately, I have a crap CPU... I've been stuck with an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 since I have made my machine. I have since upgraded the GPU, and can definitely tell that the CPU is holding it back from it's full potential. What I am looking for, is the best motherboard replacement for the graphics card that I have currently. Here are my specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
GPU: EVGA GTX 750TI 2GB
MOBO: Vostro 230

Thank you in advance! If I didn't elaborate on anything enough, please feel free to ask.

Hello there G2401 ,
on GTX 750TI you would be GPU bottlenecked in most of the games which means you will see small differences between modern CPUs as they can get the most out of that GPU easily . except in games which uses high CPU power .

for 200 $ :

both will get you same performance as both CPUs will be able to use all the 750TI power .

Solution

THIS IS AMAZING! THANK YOU. How long will this last me in terms of next gen consoles, and will it overheat if I keep the fan I'm using currently?

750TI is a little stronger than the consoles GPUs , play till you get unplayable performance on a game you really love , both processors comes in BOX that contain a new stock fan for the processor , they can keep the processor in good status providing that you do not overclock and have good air inflow inside your case , they are loud however .
If you do not like the fan sound then a $20 cooler will do you magic .

I would say get the 8320 because of 8-Cores it is more future-proof than 2 strong cores
dx12 is coming and will use 6 cores ( since you want to play upcoming games ) .

Thanks so much! I think that this will do wonders.
