i know there only like 40 bux or so but are they actually worth it? ive seen good things in reviews online sayign they can help around 10 degree, wud it help a fair bit in performance i have a cpu bottleneck in mw2 and i think its thermal throtteling, im hoping a thermal pad wud help? the one im lookin at is a topmate c5 on amazone currenting 36.99 CAD. can any one confirm that these actually work?

was also thinking on undervoltting not sure how to go about that, its a 5800H R7 from AMD does ne one know if ryzen master or whatever program from amd work with laptops? im new to amd in general and not sure how to go about this.

Do you have MSI afterburner installed? You should be able to see all your cores and their speeds while you're playing to verify CPU temp and throttling while you're playing.

Here's a tutorial:

i just got the lappy so havnt installed it yet i am familiar with the program i was just goin on the assumption that a 5800h shudntr bottle neck at 3060, so it musta been throttling. ive used other programs to verify ttemps i didd get a lil extra performance by turning the fans to max. so im assuming that confirms it, ill prob get the thermal pad ne ways i tried ryzen master but the cpu wasnt supported so looked into ryzen controller that seemed to work a bit but there was no voltage options only wattage and i wasnt sure about dropping wattage or not...i know it likly the same thing but still was uncertain still more tinkering to do...

You're talking about pads, throttling, and undervolting.

You've not said what your actual temps are.

That's anecdotal evidence. I would get your MSI afterburner set up to get some real hard numbers. Your GPU could be throttling, we don't really know. MSI Afterburner which show you which one is getting near it's temp limit.

nah gpu temps lower than cpu u dont need msi afterburner to show ur temps there other programs that do it too

so it really comes down to peice of mind i think with these things, i eneded up buying a thermal pad i think my performance increased but itd be marginally if so. My overall experence gaming did improve tho because of the peice of mind with the cooling pad, the temps still ended up being around 90 degrees with the pad but im thinking its cuz of the extra performance the cpu was able to put out. im pretty sure laptops will always max out tempature no matter what. the thermal pad i bough was the topmate c5 on amazon my cpu is the 5800h n gpu 3060, the thermal pad is a lil noisy but not as bad as lappy fans at max volume.

Final recommendation if ur humming an haing about buyin one n the extra money isnt worth spend at the time id say not to bother buying one. But if its only 40 dollars to u n want the peice of mind that your laptop will have the best cooling experence. n ur chasing the best performance possible y not... this thing does work in a sence the laptop cools down way faster than normal when goin from high load to normal usage. so there is a sign that it does work. another thing i did notice about the coolin pads is there seems to be two options for holding the laptop in place, one with the support in the middle n others with two supports on either side. something to keep in mind, i bought one with the support in the middle because i use the keyboard im not using a seperate one. i figured the two supports would get in the way of my wrist while gaming n typing.

Any one else interested in these things mn my personal experence feel free to leave a reply and ask questions i can be some of a service any ways.
