Gaming laptop or gaming pc

I want to buy gaming laptop maybe rog strix scar 2,but is it worth the money or just go build a gaming pc with the same budget?

And how much the performance difference between both of them?

Im a college student ill use it for 3d rendering maybe 24/7.

Budget max $2000 since the rog scar 2 will be $2000(if im not mistaken)

That is an expensive laptop so im guessing thats your budget. You could build a kickass desktop for that price great for gaming/rendering. I would personally suggest a desktop for the longevity. Make sure you get at least 16gb of 3200mhz ram, it will help with the rendering.

Will you be rendering in class or outside of home/dorm? Do you need the portability of a laptop?

Im gonna using my laptop anywhere(if i choose pc,i still gonna buy cheap laptop for doing some presentation). if i buy laptop,i can use for gaming,rendering everywhere.
But i also wondering how much the difference in performance between the laptop and pc in same spec
(Maybe 70% im gonna use it in my home)

a desktop with the same specs will always out preform the laptop. I would say unless you REALLY need that portability, then no. Also gaming and working on a Desktop will always be better in my opinion.
