Inb4 why the fuck hell you want to play a game as old as 90 percent of the people who use the internet.
I'm trying to play Diablo II (3 sucks dick) and I was using my phone to play via tethering and it sucked balls.
I finally got home internet after being in my house for a whole year without a stable home internet and now I want to play my game but I keep getting these really shitty lag spikes that are like timed....
My speedtest I can attach if anyone actually replies is 55mbps down and 5mbps up with time warner cable. The realm I connect to is Useast.battle.net my tracer route shows good ping below 100 hell even below 60...My pingtest is A+ 1ms jitter 0 packets lost.
When I play I get 78 ping when I join then I walk around and it can go anywhere from 264 to 300 to 400 to 500 to even 2k!!! I have nothing running that should interfere with the ping in such a devastating way. I turned my windows firewall off and tried to see if any results changed and nothing. I am directly hooked to the modem bypassing the router or any wireless issues that may occur. I get same results with wireless and router or direct to router.
To enjoy this game I need a good stable 78-150 ping....this 400 every other 3 seconds or so is really a bummer and keeps me from enjoying my game. Sad thing is I called my ISP out and they fixed the drop outside saying it was old and bad then today I had them come and move my modem to my game room (required new cables and wiring) so now I have all new cables throughout...) I don't run any torrents or downloads or browser even up when I play. I have restored my pc updated drivers and other things....I am willing to just pay someone to try and remotely fix this issue.
