I'm looking to build a gaming PC and my budget is 1000$ or less (not a cent over, gotta draw the line somewhere=p)

I found this build somewhere online and it looks pretty decent to me. However, since the build was posted 3 months ago, perhaps there are a few outdated parts that could be switched out to get a better bang for my buck:

Intel Core i5-3570K Quad Core LGA 1155 $ 209.99

EVGA GeForce GTX 660 SUPERCLOCKED $ 204.55

Gigabyte Intel Z77 LGA 1155 Motherboard GA-Z77X-UD3H $ 139.99

Samsung 840 Series 120GB SATA III SSD $ 100.38

Rosewill HIVE-750 750W 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply $ 89.99

Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD SATA 6 Gb/s Hard Drive $ 66.28

Corsair Vengeance 8 GB ( 2 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1600 MHz $ 66.27

Corsair Carbide Series 200R Compact ATX Case $ 59.99

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO – CPU Cooler $ 27.99

Asus 24xDVD-RW Serial ATA Internal OEM Drive $ 20.99

Or perhaps you have something *completely* different in mind! I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you!

I have a couple of questions before i can help you...
I am assuming your using newegg for the prices?
Prefer an intel or amd processor? (but for that budget intel is better)
Prefer an nivdea or amd graphics card?

The build is absolutely fine, although if u wanted to switch to AMD you can get a nice cpu with 8 cores, 4ghz cpu speed and 8mb of cache. And is cheaper than ur current processor, tell me if you want to know more and ill tell a you a good mobo and cpu cooler to go with it

The cpu is question: AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core $199.99

I'm purchasing from the states.

Also, I apologize. I should've filled this out before posting.

Approximate Purchase Date: this week

Budget Range: 1000$ or less before shipping

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, gaming....and gaming. (MMOs, modern FPS)

Are you buying a monitor: Yes (going 1920x1080)

Do you need to buy OS: No

Location: New Jersey, USA

Parts Preferences: Intel/Nvidea

Overclocking: Yes

(Also, I might add that i'm considering shelling out the extra cash to put a 760 in there instead of the 660)

Builds change with time and prices. This build will play games at higher settings then the build you listed. Also, the quality of the components is higher.

Thanks for the build suggestions guys. If anybody has second opinions on either of these builds please post away! =)

(Also, is 550w enough to handle that build? I was thinking of going a tad higher. At least 600w...but what do I know=p)

Edit: Didn't notice the 620w at the end of your post <3

Kingston Hyper X 3K is much better than it's SSDNow V300 series.
Also, 620W gives you extra wiggle room if you upgrade your GPU in the future. Normally I wouldn't recommend 620W PSU for this build, but the price is right.

Kingston Hyper X 3K is much better than it's SSDNow V300 series.
How is it better? Better write speed? Better read speed? How?
I think the V300 is better. If that is not enough then best cheap buy is sandisk ultra plus 128Gb. Or maybe samsung pro ^^

Maybe best read this: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6733/kingston-ssdnow-v300-review/8

If budget do have more money Id pick sandisk or samsung pro. Plextor is good too.
