Hello forum! I'm planning to build my own gaming PC from scratch for the first time and i wanted an expert opinion before i start buying parts.

I am planning on having the parts ordered and the PC built within the next few weeks and will be looking for the best deals on parts. If anyone is aware on the best times to purchase/possible sales on parts that would be appreciated.

I will be using this PC for 1080p gaming and very basic (think AMVs on YouTube basic) video editing as well as web surfing, movie viewing, etc.

I don't need a PC that can run every game at max 120+fps or anything (i'm actually used to playing recent games at lowest settings at sub-30fps and still having a fun time playing) but i want something that can play recent games (shadow of mordor, dead rising, far cry, assassin's creed, watch dogs, etc) at 1080p with high-ultra settings and with decent performance. But i also want the option of upgrading in the future when prices of the nicer components go down.

Other notes: I have never overclocked. I'll be needing a monitor, keyboard and mouse. I'll also need a disc drive for my movies (blu-ray is a plus but not required). Looks are not a priority. I don't have a preference when it comes to AMD vs Nvidia or AMD vs Intel.

My budget for this build is $600-850 although i could go over as needing a monitor and keyboard will be driving up the cost.

Here is a build that i went a little crazy on so you can kinda see what i'm going for:

Thanks for the help in advance. :)
