Gaming PC Build - Good or Bad?

Case: Silverstone rl05

CPU: Intel - Core i7-7700K

CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - H5 Ultimate

GPU: GTX 1070 Founders Edition

Motherboard: MSI - Z270 GAMING PLUS ATX

Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LED 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000

SSD: SanDisk - SSD PLUS 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

HD: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

PSU: Rosewill PHOTON 650w

Monitor: HP - OMEN 25 24.5" 1920x1080 144Hz

Keyboard: Corsair K65

Mouse: Logitech G403

Let me know if these are all compatible or if you have any ideas or suggestions for me. This is my first build so if any of you have any tips for me that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It is a good build.

But I suggest you take an 8700k and a Z370 motherboard over the 7700k and Z270 motherboard, as the CoffeeLake line is newer and is more powerful.

You should also get an aftermarket GTX 1070, not the founders edition. Zotac, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, EVGA are all good brands to choose from.

Why would an aftermarket gtx 1070 be better?

They usually are just faster, have better cooling, quieter etc. I have a EVGA 1070 SC edition and testing it out of the box I am getting near over clock speeds with the factory overclock.

And hes right, get either a 8700K (which is somewhat overkill for gaming, or a 8600k (same price and 7700k and same performance or slightly better performance depending on the game)

Aftermarket graphic cards will have better cooling, keeping the temperatures and noise down.

And yes, if you can go for the Coffee Lake ( i7 8700K+Z370 motherboard ) combination it'll be somewhat faster.

Ok cool thx. Is the 8700k better because of the 6 cores and how so?

For gaming not really, for productivity work yes, since developers still don't utilize multi core CPUs very well even though everyone keeps saying its coming, I'm not holding my breath waiting for it. Save the money and get the i5 8600k and either get a 1070ti or 1080 with what you save.
