I am currently researching parts to build a gaming pc with a budget of around:
$1500 (New Zealand Dollars)
$1000 (US dollars)

Thanks for the build - in hindsight kinda feel like 16gb is unnecessary for my situation so probs just stick with 8gb

Nowadays, 8gb is pretty meager and can struggle in certain situations, specially when multitasking heavily. Not to mention your system reserves some of that 8gb for background operations. Go 8gb only if you are hardpressed for budget.

I don't really heavily multitask.
When I game on my current pc i only have discord and steam and for example csgo running and I have 8gb ram But I see your point.

Does the Asus prime b450m motherboard support wifi (wireless connection)???

If you attach a wifi card or dongle, it should support. Does not have integrated wifi out of the box.
