Gaming PC CPU

SO i just bought my PC and i am just wondering, can i change my CPU after some time because at the moment I have the Intel I5 4690k and in time I want to upgrade to I7.

If I do, will it restart my whole PC . Will it delete all my programs ?

No you can change the CPU without any issues, obviously ensure the socket is the same.
