i have a gaming pc which does not have wifi and a streaming Laptop. they are both connected through their respective ethernet ports. my internet plan is up to 500 MBPS.

i ran a speed test on my gaming PC and it is getting 100 MBPS. I ordered a cat 6 cable and the speed remained unchanged. i also when into device manager and changed the ethernet ports speed. my motherboard ethernets speed rating is up to 2.5 GPS.

i ran a speed test on my laptop and it is getting 350 MBPS.

anyone experience this issue or have a reason as to why this would happen? any help would be appreciated.

Not sure if this is your problem but someone posted this just today in another thread on this forum.

Seems there is a hardware design flaw in intels 2.5g chipset. Different drivers might help it says.

Still your problem looks more like a bad ethernet cable. Be very sure you are not using fake cables. The cable must be pure copper (no cca) and have wire size 22-24(no flat or thin cables)
