Solution

the single core performance of the 6300 isn't good enough for WOW

My suggestion -
Fractal Design Core 1000 FD-CA-CORE-1000-USB3-BL Black Steel MicroATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
XFX TS Series XFX TS 550W 550W ATX12V 2.2 & ESP12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply
Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model KHX1333C9D3B1K2/8G
ASRock H81M-DGS R2.0 LGA 1150 Intel H81 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i3-4340 Haswell 3.6GHz LGA 1150 54W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600 BX80646I34340
ASUS R7260X-DC2OC-2GD5 Radeon R7 260X 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

All these parts are a total of - $594.93 + Free shipping on newegg before rebates.... This will give better performance due to the single threaded performance than the one previously suggested and be more reliable and quieter...

The I3 will be better in WoW, however in other games it will suffer. I would say the 6300 is a good all rounder, plus if you over clock it you can get the SCP to that of the I3... so it's your choice.. do you want to build a PC solely for WoW (I3) or for all round gaming (6300)...?

If I were you I would go for the previously suggested 6300 build and over clock it a bit... that would give you more future proofing and if need be you can get an 8xxx series and oc that too and beat i7's.... However if you do want optimal performance for wow and nothing else, i3 is the way to go...
