Ok, soo i want to build a PC for gaming at Ultra on the newest titles at 1080p (dont need more than full HD, at most 2K) and rendering in 3ds max + working in after effects and video editing. I kind of need help with the rig i have chosen, to see if someone more experienced than me with this situation could help :) .

My planned rig:

Intel Core i7 4790K or 6700K (I want to have the option to overclock)
Asus Z170 (I am kind of an ASUS fan-boy :D ) or Z97A for the 4790k
Crucial Ballistix 16GB DDR4 or the DDR3 version for 4790k
Cooler Master Hyper 212
R9 390X Sapphire Tri-X (I think i will need the 8GB of VRAM because i will be using plugins that store most of the data in the VRAM, like Element3D and Ray-Fire)
Seagate Desktop SSHD 2TB 7200RPM
EVGA SuperNOVA 750B1 750W
Fractal Design Define S Black
And a couple of 120mm fans

I would love to see comments and reasons, thanks in advance guys :) !

Solution
The 5820k is going to be the best option coming in cheaper than the 6700k. It is much better for video encoding, editing, and rendering.

6 cores vs 4 makes a huge difference.

Sure I can take your suggestion but how much difference does pixel rate and floating point performance make between these two cards the r9 390 and the x-version?

You're absolutely right i totally forgot about the 5th gen intel core cpus, yea the 5820k will make a differnce with 2 cores even though i loose 0,7Ghz :)

Yep but it's good to note that the 5820k uses solder as TIM, so it overclocks quite well. Delid not required.
