It all depends on how you look at it, I work with my system allot with heavy editing and computing, so I prefer to have power+ to make sure none of my system is lagging anything at full tilt. Best way to damage system is to choke it. Mys current system says it needs 683 watts to run at normal, but I use a 1000 watt PSU, and I have never come close to having a spike or choke with my system. My APC hates me if we get a brown out here in LA, but my computer parts never complain.

As for the MOBO It's worth the extra $20 if you can save for 1 more week. Just a thought...
ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards MAXIMUS VII HERO $220.00--$208.99 (amazon)

ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO DDR3 2800 LGA 1150 Motherboard socket for 4th Generation Intel Core i7/ i5/ i3/ Pentium... $199.00 -- $190.99

I would for sure it's newer tech. You Can't go wrong...

I personally go for the Sabertooth series I have been using them for a while if you want to dish out little more. This is my next MOBO when I replace my Sabertooth Z58... It is a workhorse that stays cool and you can clock like a mother if you want to play around with it. But the VII awesome board.

ASUS SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK1 ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK1
by Asus
Price: $238.99

Sir, build recommended above is suitable for your requirement. You can't go wrong with that. If you would continue to read the multiple posts on various platforms you would come across so many personal views and recommendations. Mobo's price has gone high than what it was when the build was posted. If you don't want it then you can get Asus Z97-A or Gigabyte Gaming Series 5.

You mentioned that you would be going for hardcore gaming and youtube videos walkthrough. Sabertooth is also a nice choice.

If you've not yet purchase the PC then wait on GPU, You may buy other components. nVIDIA's much anticipated maxswsell series SPUs are expected in Sep-14 and guess what GTX 880 is set to be priced at $500 or below whereas it will give 20% more performance than GTX 780.

Rest is totally your choice.
