Garage Door Remote

Friend of mine has this garage door remote and wants to buy a spare universal remote, not sure if it is a RF or IR remote controller.

If there is a better place to ask such a question, pointers would be really appreciated.

Garage door openers are RF. IR controllers need a direct line of sight to the receiver so this would not work for a garage door opener. Get the motor's brand and head down to your local hardware store, they should have a few universal ones to pick from over there.
