Hello,

I purchased a new WD Blue 750GB Sata II Hard drive to replace my old 320gb drive due to what I was told a "hard drive" failure. Anyways, when I hook the new hard drive to the laptop and insert the USB drive with Windows 7, I receive an error of "No bootable device-- insert boot disk and press any key. I have already changed the BIOS to USB drive Sandisk #1, WD 750gb #2. Restarted and still receiving this error. What else is there to try? Laptop works fine with other hard drives attached to it. Is there a way to install the operating system to the hard drive before inserting it into the laptop?

Thanks!

*Update* I figured it out. I downloaded a program called (Rufus 2.4) and ran that with my USB drive connected to another laptop. The program created a bootable ISO image of Windows 7 which in turn allowed me to install on the new hard drive connected to my Gateway. Phew what a process.
