Hello,
I have used my router on a previous computer and now have one thatat used to be someone elses but when i connect my router to use the laptop it says that in is unsecred and i need to know how to secure it

You need to log in to the router's settings page and set a security key then keep a note of it outside your computer as well as inputting it to connect to the network. To get to the settings, read my post number 3 in this thread:- http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/28102-18-suppoort-setupwirless and try to go for at least WPA wireless security.
