lol... now your getting it. Charlie Demerjian is amongst the least trust worthy journalists (if you can even call him that) out there today, and he writes for a site that takes reporting and credibility very lightly. I like to call it the Fox News of the Tech Industry. I can understand how some people can dislike Nvidia, but this guy is on another level entirely. He tends to foster a severely unhealthy hatred for Nvidia and its CEO, and as a result spends a good portion of his productive life bashing its products and feeding fuel to the fanboys.

"and the initial top part will have 448 shaders" O ya, he also 'predicted' that gf100/Fermi would be impossible to manufacture, amongst other things.

That author is well known for completely fabricating articles (and he has been for years). Here's a site that tracks his activities: http://charliedemerjianisadouchebag.blogspot.com/

I read fox news on their website all the time. Can you direct me to an example of a news story reported by Fox (not an opinion piece like Hannity or O'Reily, but a NEWS article) to illustrate some type of disregard for factual accuracy in reporting? If so I would be grateful to you and would start getting my news elsewhere.

Actually, only two weeks to H-Hour makes it sound like it might happen :)
I'm happy!

I actually wasn't referring to the Fox News website and I'm not familiar with it, so I cannot point you to an article. I was referring to the cable news network, sorry I didn't spell that out clearly.

I hope this doesn't distract people from the point I was trying to make. I was simply assuming that most people wouldn't consider Fox News (the cable news network) a legitimate source for balanced impartial journalism, and so made the comparison.

Check any major media publication versus what it was from the AP or Reuters before they bought it. The magic of left and right wing BS.

It's nice to see someone else has discovered that blog, keep spreading the word dude. [:wolfen18:9]

I understand the premise of your argument, but you have failed to support it with a specific citation. Observing that Fox reporting is different than most other news sources is not, in itself, evidence of inaccuracy. A consensus does not guarantee truth. I do agree, however, that Fox definitely caters to a more right wing audience, but I've yet to see any evidence of factual inaccuracy in any news story.

I'd love to see the price/performance graph. The price alone would be great. I hope it's not that expansive, but look, again with the 320bit bus, is it really needed? Wasn't 256 enough? The end result is another monster card that won't sell to many people.

Having one card with higher bus to provide to the extreme edition people isn't bad, but at this time, especially so late in the game, a card that can stand head to head with the 5870 and beat it in price would have been better. Maybe the 460 would have been a better release and keep the 480 for the next round.

But in a few weeks we will see if this is the killer card or if it's going to be a waste, because of the price. They will still sell it, they can ask 1000 dollars and people will still buy it, but less and doesn't force ati to lower it's prices, which is a shame. 1000 is of course too high and we will have to wait for accurate prices, let's all hope for less than 500.

I had already posted before I finished my message, was a little too tired to even think about editing my post or posting the complete message.

I can't even really remember the point I was trying to make. I think it was that the media puts such a spin on things or sensationalizes them to such a point that it blurs the line between subjective reporting and nearly falsifying information.

Again, this is regardless of left or right. CNN or Fox. However, I find opinion shows (Nancy Grace in particular for some reason) just plain stupid. That's completely unrelated however.

Ferni will be the fastest "single GPU" card in the market when released. Nvidia may cause halo effect by Ferni and sell well their 2xx series middle range cards, but they can not fight ATI in price for some time in upper end. The good result in tessalation in promising! Not usefull with older games, but tessalation seems to be guite usefull fealture in some type of games, so Nvidia can cause greater use of that feature in future games.

The yealds are not too great to "flood" the market with big amount of Ferni cards. Let's hope that over the time the situation will get better, so that we can get cheaper cards in some time in the future...

Ya! You mean the card is finally coming out? Let me guess.... after 6 months the card fries (like all the 8000s in laptops because they're defective), or a driver bug causes the fan to not spin, frying the card. To me, this thing just sounds like an overpriced doorstop... just like the last Nvidia product I'll ever own again... my laptop which died due to defective video cards (dual 8600m gt). Everyone, do yourself a favor and try not to be an idiot like the people that are still buying Toyotas with bad accelerators, unless you really, really like throwing your money away.

Rot in hell Nvidia... I hope someone sucks your puny little company up and dismantles it into a million little pieces.
