GeForce 4 MX 440-SE how high can i get taht before i fry it its on stock cooling bought it from BFG so the stock cooling has no fans just a heatsink

right now i have it OCed tooo...270Mhz Core clock and 368 memory core

i dont really care if i fry it cuz well...it has the market value of a double quarter pounder from McDonalds soo yeah, just wanna kno how high i can get it

Edit - its on a Plain vanilla PCI slot not express

even if you overclocked it to twice the stock speed it would be plain slow, time to buy a new board and video card (and the rest)

exactly no point in investing anymor emoney is this load of crap thts why im OCing it wout out VERY good cooling (stock cooling :)

I agree with the wise posters above 😀

It is time to upgrade to a new motherboard and VGA.

I would recommend an nForce4 + socket 939 CPU + your PCI VGA until you can afford a PCI-Express 7900GT 😀

The 7900GT would be kinda overkill... a 6600GT is ok if you're on a budget while a 6800GS or 7800GT would be great 😀

try rivatuner.........everytime you overclock it ...check the stability.... and the temperature also..........it`s interesting to see how far can it go .....also use 3dmark2001 to check the stability ... watch for artefacts.... and see how high the score can get ...... you`ll reach a limit soon enought

this sH!t cant run 3dMark i believe u need 128 MB of vid ram i only got 64

thats a good idea

buy a mobo and use PCI gfx until i cna afford a PCI-e

Sounds like your having fun! to each his own, if you dont warp it before you get the next one, I always like to keep a dependable pci around the bench for tests

I Dont Get It , Whats The Point In OverClocking a MX440-SE ??
Think That You OC it to 1000Mhz Core And 2000MHz Memory Clock ? So What ????
Dont Waste your Time and Money on it , Go Out Sell It And Buy A GeForce 6 or 7 Series , and Then Enjoy Playing Games !!

your starting to sound like a nvidia "sponsored" alien

Yeah.... Buy a 7800GTX 512. It has 24-pixel pipelines. ATi's comparable offering only has 16-pixel pipelines!

Haha just kidding; we all know the X1900 spanks the 7800GTX 512.

if the man wants to warp his mx440 ..why not?.... gogogo and don`t stop ... that`s science ... who knows maybe you`ll discover something new like mx440 at 10Gh runs faster than a x1900 xxxtttt pe and ultra hiper platinum edition with 6387126378612 pixel pipelines.......
good luck with your OC my friend ....

Yeah, I often wish I had a pci-card to test with and run dual screen an so on.
Besides, the tv-out function + passive cooling makes it an ideal HTPC-solution.

I had a 440MX on AGP that oc'ed well so do it, but i would be a waste to brake the card.
