I have just bought a XFX GeForce 6600 card.
When I start Windows I get a warning from Nvidia
that the Graphic card gets to little power..
I have tried a more powerful powersupply, but that didnt work.
Can it be that my Mainboard is too old ? ...
I have a MSI mainboard that is ... 2 years old mabye..
I also get a msg that I should insert the 4pin wire from the Graphic Card,
but there is no such thing on the card, so I dont see that is the problem..
Anyone tell me whats wrong ?

Just curious... so why aren't you posting to the newgroup
alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.msi-microstar ?

Have you tried reseating the card?

If you have the XFX 6600GT AGP card, there IS a receptacle for the
Molex power adapter to plug in. It may not be obvious, but it is there.
The PCI-E 6600GT doesn't, but you don't have PCI-E version because you
have a two year old motherboard.

If you have a lesser 6600 than the GT you may not have the Molex
receptacle. In that case, either the power supply or the mainboard is
deficient.

Just because you have replaced the power supply with a higher rated one
doesn't mean you have more power available. Cheap power supplies are
notorious for rating based on peak power at cool temperatures. Often
when moving up to the greater-than-$50 class of power supplies, one can
safely lose at least 100W or more of (false) power rating.

You haven't told us which MSI board you have, so beyond this its all
speculation.

Ken.
