Hi . I just bought an EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1050 ti , I plugged it in in my PCI.e X16 2.0 slot and I cant even get my windos to boot after installing it. I get the " Press ESC for startup menu", I press esc and nothing hapends I get stuck on that screen and cant even access the bios. My older gpu works fine.I try looking for the mobo compatibility but get mixed answers. I'm running windows 10
750w PSU , but I have a cheap HP m970am angelica mobo. with amd FX-6100 cpu, 16 gb RAM. My question is am I missing something or I just have to give up and buy another mobo? Thanks , Hope You guys can help Me :)

Solution
If you have a budget of $250 you can get an Intel i3 and a new motherboard easily, and a new case for them. The catch is that you will also need new RAM and a clean setup of Windows. But you will have a much stronger system.

It's definetely not the power supply, I have a 750w gold. I think its the mobo 2, Im also wondering if O replace my mobo . Do You think My amd fx-6100 can handle the gtx 1050ti? Thanks , I really want to start playing :)

FX-6100 is not a good CPU for gaming, even on low settings it will have issues maintaining smooth FPS in newer games. Unless you just sell the computer and start over it's not really worth upgrading just the CPU unless you get a used CPU for cheap. The 6300 is not much of an improvement, and the higher end FX models likely will have stability issues on that motherboard.

Newer Nvidia cards can have issues with non UEFI motherboards. If you did buy a new AM3+ motherboard make sure it has an UEFI bios.

Since you already have the components including a new videocard, I'd just get a new motherboard. This makes the most sense if you plan to stick with this computer for a while. Otherwise you're looking at a new motherboard/CPU/ram investment. You'll have a faster computer but it costs more too. Alternatively maybe you can return the videocard and get an AMD instead, they generally don't have this issue.

Thanks for your help guys :). I was trying to stick to a budget but that already went to hell lol. I really want to play the new bf1. I was in denial about My pc lol. Well can you guys recommend me a gd mobo and cpu that will work with that video card, I can play decently and thats not too expensive? Idc if its an intel cpu either. Just want something that its gonna allow me to play :). I thought about upgrading to the fx-8350. Is that a gd cpu, is it too old? Or should I just upgrade to intel. I cant spend more than 150 on a cpu...lol and i can spend 100 on a mobo.
