I expect the first round of availability will rapidly be snatched up by influencers and scalpers. Nvidia will claim success and that they've set new records. Then inventory will build up and sit around waiting for a price drop. I can't see the MSRPs holding long given that mining is dead and there hasn't been government stimulus payments.

I fully expect that we're back to normal. The GPUcolypse was due to 90% mining and 10% global chip shortage. Thank God mining is dead (for now, I'm sure it's maggot riddled corpse will rise again, but we should at least get a couple months break).

Since it's been so long, normal means these cards will sell out launch day. I think people are the most excited for the 4090. It'll sell out in minutes, if not seconds. Twenty million nerds (I know because I'm one of them) refreshing product pages all at the same time will bring the sites to their knees. Launch day will be tough, but within a few weeks anyone that wants one should be able to buy them.
