Geforce2 GTS

Yesterday I eagerly installed my new Geforce2 GTS. All that I get at bootup is BEEEEEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. This means video card not detected. I tried reseating my card several times. This was no help. I also tried the card in two other systems, with the same result.
I have an Asus A7V - 300 W PS - Athlon 1 Ghz - 128 Mb Crucial CAS2 - 2 IBM HD IDE - 1 pioneer DVD IDE and 1 SCSI 2940UW (no devices attached).
The system works ok when I put my old TNT card in.

Do I have a dead board, or does somebody have other suggestions ?

My first guess is that your GTS card is dead. If you bought
it in a shop, just go back and ask them to check it out.
Another reason could be what I experienced with a
Cougar maxi gamer TNT2 card. The angled bracket was mounted
faulty on the board so the cards contact could not reach
all the way down in the APG socket. This was a dirt cheap
card so I just fixed the bracket myself. In your case I
would not do that but return it to the reseller for another
one.
