How do i notice if my Geforce2 MX can't handle the speeds i set it to?
i have an ASUS V7100. I mounted a small fan onto the heatsink.
The asus tweak utility only makes a small speed gain possible. Is this the maximum or can it go faster? How?
Is the speed gain noticable?

Ohh yeah- overclocking that bad boy can make a difference. Mine's overclocked to 200mhz core and 200mhz memory- runs fine. I've got a P5 fan on the heatsink- then I mounted large heatsinks on the memory and put a P5 fan on them. So, this thing is supercooled. try the latest detonator drivers to overclock more.

I used a P5 passive heatsink, which I resized to better fit over the RAM chips. I then attached an old CPU fan I had lying around. I also used Copper Ice II thermal compund for both the chip and the RAM. I can run it stably at 220 Mhz Core and 205 Mhz Memory.

The Asus tweak utility is OK, but for better behaviour use the Detonator drivers (I'm using 6.31, the latest official ones) and use the coolbits registry entry to allow overclocking in the display properties. This will let you set the core to 220 (?) and the memory to 210. my V7100T will run at 190/200 totally stable, but at 200/210 I start seeing speckles when running Q3A, and it did lock up once.

You can also get a blue orb which can help cool the core further, the pin holes are in the right place on my card (the TV version) so it should be alright on yours.

where did you get the Asus tweak utility? I have the V7100 (retail box) and it was not part of the pakage. I'm intirested in o/c my GDU for the first time and would like to use that utility.

Well I downloaded the Tweak Utility, Smart Doc & Smart Doc Deluxe... which should I use to o/c V7100 ?
Can I use the Smart Doc program at all ? They all say they are made for the V7700 series.

arien... how much of a speed gain does the tweak utility give you ?
