I've been shopping around, and I've decided to buy a GeForce4 Ti4200. I'm trying to decide which ram to get.
Is 128MB ram overkill, or will it really help out with high resolution gaming (1280x1024, etc)?
Also, is the speed difference mentioned below (from the sticky buying guide) going to be a major difference, or a miniscule one? I was planning to get the middle one, but if it will be A LOT slower, I don't want to get it. But I couldn't get the third variety cheap.
Here's a link to what I was gonna buy before I noticed the speed difference: http://store.yahoo.com/shentech/vixtgeti12dd.html
Thanks!
<i>GeForce4 Ti4200
Pros- Fastest out of all those cards, cheap
Cons- No DX9 support, AA/AF can hurt performance
Comments: There are three types of Ti4200
Ti4200 64mb 4x/8x- cheapest, second fastest(clocked higher), better quality ram
Ti4200 128mb- slowest out of the three, said to have cheap ram to reduce cost(clocked lower)
Ti4200-8x 128mb- 8X AGP, slightly faster than Ti4200 64 MB, uses good ram
