I am trying to run an EVGA Geoforce GTX 750 Ti on a Gateway DX4870-UB21P. I have updated the BIOS to what is available on the gateway site (version P01-A2). The machine specs say I have a PCI Express (3.0) x16 slot and the card does fit in there. There are no extra power connectors on the card that I can see.
After installing the card in the slot and powering on, I get the Gateway screen with the two options for enter BIOS (Del, and F-11). Neither works. I get two beeps spaced about twenty seconds or so apart, then eventually get a blinking cursor screen which just stays there.
I powered downed, remove the graphics card, and plugged monitor back into integrated video. Powered on, entered BIOS setup and looked for options to disable secure boot and go to legacy like some have suggested, but that is not available. I also looked for an option to select PCI video. Nada.
I also made sure the card was properly seated in the slot.
the 750 Ti says it needs a 300 watt or greater power supply. The power supply I have is a Liteon PS-8301-08A which I think is also 300W.
The mobo is an Acer
Is this graphics card not compatible with this PC? If not, what is?
Please, let me know what other information you need to help solve this problem
thanks!
