[citation][nom]mavicz[/nom]It's good fun. If your looking for simple fun with MMO elements, then this is a good game. If your a self important blow hard who cries that every game is not exactly what you want, then you won't like it.As for the guy who cried about "adverts" in the beginning. You must be a real power user, too bad you can't figure out how to press the escape key to skip it.Like I said though, fun action MMO.[/citation]

OUCH! Why do people always have to take a personal shot when they disagree.

And, yes. I have tried the ESC key many times and it doesn't work. Very much like U3 and other recent games. Most of those you have to ren the ad file.

[citation][nom]figgus[/nom]third-person action gameFail!1st person or GTFO. I don't need to see the backside of my avatar playing the game, I need to see the guys I'm shooting at. 3rd person was the most annoying part about GTA, it made targeting a real pain and made it rough to see what was going on.[/citation]Eh, there have been some great 3rd person games over the years. Besides GTA: Dead Space, Batman A.A., Metal Gear Solid, Max Payne, Assassin's Creed - for that matter how about Mario and Link (the 3D versions)?

I prefer 1st person too, but some games work great in 3rd.

[citation][nom]RADIO_ACTIVE[/nom]Dont let the people bad mouthing it turn you away this is a fun game. The game needs some work but so does every MMO when it is launched. Anyhow this game has tons of potential. Last night me and three other friends teamed up and owned some criminal a**.[/citation]
And I was thinking, "who would ever play as the cops?". I guess there are people out there.

[citation][nom]soo-nah-mee[/nom]Two words: Cop Griefer[/citation]
Yeah, I could see playing a cop just to fuck with criminals. I'd definitely want to be a crooked cop though (shoot first, don't bother asking questions).

Because third-person was a massive failure for GTA?

[citation][nom]RADIO_ACTIVE[/nom]Yes it does, I believe it gives you the option for monthly subscription or hourly based. You can earn money ingame buy selling your song/graphics/clothes etc. to pay for subscription I heard as well, but am not sure if this is true.[/citation]

Oh I love hourly based as long as it's not ridiculously priced (say $1 an hour)

Assuming $15 a month, that's $15 per 720 hours and that's around 2.1 cents per hour. Or course assuming you only play 4 hours a day 30 days a month (that's 120 hours), so "fair" price is 12 cents per hour.

I think 3rd person was the worst thing about GTA.

Think of it this way: in all the games where the option is given, how often would you CHOOSE 3rd person over 1st person?

I often play Oblivion in 3rd person. Melee combat is way easier in 3rd person. Half of the weapons in the GTA series are melee. If you have to use a mixture of ranged/melee, I'd rather use 3rd person. Though being able to switch (like in Oblivion/Fallout 3) is the best option.

I think they had an interesting approach to deal with the overwhelmingly large amount of people who choose to be criminals. Criminals also act as deterence against other criminals in order to guard their turf. So even though there are only a couple enforcers you still end up getting hunted.

The only problem I find is when you have someone that is not that good as your soul opponent. You feel bad killing them 5 times in a row while you camp the checkpoint from an unseen vantage.

Waste of bandwidth and harddrive space imo, the driving handling is god awful and theres at least 5 guns that are inbalanced to the point that out of 30 or so guns, they are the only ones being used so theres no varierty and even if you wanted another gun , u get your ass whooped and dont get me started on the fact that a Magnum can snipe you just as good as a sniper rifle from 200 feet away.

The only thing this game has going is the customizations which is the best ive seen of any game. 3/10
