Systems minimums are pretty low. Surely they wouldn't just do a 360 port... right? Also, this article quotes the same line twice in the second paragraph.

How on earth does Crap Fall take up 50gigs? Graphics are nothing to phone home about, 15 small maps isnt alot of content and sound effects are average?? Please explain 50gigs of Titanfall?

Heard it's Audio files taking up more then 50% of that 50Gb. Must be some uncompressed crap that isn't optimized.

Audio these days takes up a lot especially if they use uncompressed audio.

I did not know this was using Source. That looks great. I would imagine it is on the current DoTA build of Source but yes Source has proven itself to be a very well aging engine since it is about 10 years old this year.

Too bad this requires Origin. If it was on Steam I might pick it up.

I played the beta and it was great, cant wait to play the full Game."Too bad this requires Origin. If it was on Steam I might pick it up"you are missing out... I play games for the enjoyment, im not going to spite myself in some sort of protest against EA. I hate them as much as the next guy, but i dont pre-order, and i dont play any of their f2p titles. if you really want EA to improve, support the games you like and boycott obes you dont. origin is not that bad anyway, in fact I think it is better than steam in some ways.

Wait, is EA seriously building this game with Valve's engine? 😛And ponyface, I have to strongly disagree with you on it being better than steam in some ways. Have you freaking TRIED to get it to install to someplace other than your C: drive? Until about half a year ago, it was impossible. All games installed to your C drive and if you had a SSD, you were screwed. Half of the games I have on origin still have no way of installing to an alternate path.

as far as I know EA are only publishing it for Respawn, they do not own the studio or the IP. Darksable, I MUCH prefer steam and if I had my way it would be the only client I use... but origin has much faster download speeds for me, compared to any of steams servers. abd I think I have been able to install to a different path I the past, but I cant remember. it also has a simpler, and in my opinion, better looking interface than steams all grey skin... Anyway, the bottom line is I would MUCH rather play titanfall than Ghosts. if I boycotted Origin, I would have to play COD. and to me that is a fate worse than suppoting EA.

I don't have enough games on origin to notice the download speeds - next time I download something I'll take a look. (Though I highly disagree on the interface - Origin is too in your face for my tastes.)

As for titanfall, not particularly interested... and you don't have to play CoD, you know - Arma 3 ftw. :3

Brandonjclark; it may not be as deep as a, WoW pvp arena, or Dota. but an fps can only be so deep. I think its a pretty good take on the genre. I enjoy these type of games, I also enjoy deeper more strategic experinces, but I dont want to play them all the time. These types of games have their place, and I am glad that they make them. I will be supporting them fully.

My clan mates also have vastly superior download speeds (in Australia) I dig Arma, and I played hundreds of hours of DayZ, and Arma 2! it is definitely worthy of support. but when I get home from work and I have a hour or so before the missus has dinner ready, thats what games like COD and titanfall are made for. I guess its a bit like junk food, quick and easy when you dont have too much time.

EA is who I don't like. I wont buy any games they publish anymore. I have a few Origin games but could care less (got them for free with my GPU). I prefer Steam as it is still more advanced in many ways and done by a privately owned company that supports third party indie devs heavily.

If you install Origin on a separate drive the games will install there. Steam just added the ability to select the drive recently.

You could play TF2 which is a better game anyways.

As for speed, I get 15-17MB/s normally on Steam (150Mbps connection) which is pretty much top end for my connection.

This game is incredibly shallow. It's call of duty with titans and wall-jumping.
So you mean it actually looks fun and original?I'd be buying it if it didn't come with origin. Sorry, Respawn. You lost me when you did your deal with the devil.

After conducting recent online tests for Titanfall, we found that the performance rates in South Africa were not as high as we need to guarantee a great experience
weighs a meaty 20 GB, and ultimately the game will take up around 50 GB of space when it's unloaded
This and the fact that it supposedly runs a heavily modded version of the source engine makes me think this thing has bugs that are just waiting to be revealed. That's even before the fact that EA is the publisher (which is the only reason I refuse to buy the game). Decompressing files to save on storage space isn't very expensive. And modifying Source, which isn't well documented, to have a tighter integration with Windows when Valve deliberately moved away from that is just asking for trouble.

Titan fall is built on source buts not the same engine as half life 2 or counter strike. Almost every line has been updated.
Pre load complete. The largest bits of the game are the "Client_mp_common.bsp.pak" files. there are 7 of these files and They range from 12 gigs to 4 gigs for about 35 gigs of the install. Then there are 16 maps at about 800 megs each, that's 12 gigs more.

Have fun playing! I wish I had enjoyed the game, but it just isn't for me, thus, I shall wait until a game comes out that appeals to me, like the Witcher 3 for example.

played the beta and was unimpressed. small maps, complete lack of environment destructibility, same game modes as any other FPS. On top of all of that, the visuals really not that impressive. great modeling, but terrible textures and effects. ...hmm maybe because its made for failbox? PASS

I Also played the beta and while I think it is interesting I really did not like it all that much. to me its one of those games you wait till it goes on sale for like 20 - 30 dollars and then possibly pick it up. Its fun but I could get very bored playing that game over and over and there's only a few game play styles so its like? where's the challenge in it? I dont see this game being an anchor for xbox one yea they might move a few units but I think most people are interested in project destiny or some of the other titles. personally I want grand theft auto 5 for pc. that is if they release it to pc version. other than that there isnt a whole lot out there I am particularly interested in. Now it would be cool if they came up with a new godzilla game..

EA + Origin = Not a chance. I won't even give it a good look-see. I've read the pre-reviews and what not and the graphics aren't special. I would say it's a port, probably from the XbOne or PS4. Games that size seem to be commonplace for those consoles. And that much audio must not be compressed very well. We don't need FLAC sound effects in our games. But I refuse to do anything EA, especially after SWTOR and their 'if it is not related to the class quests, we will not fix it' and the super-buggy and laggy world they've now created (well, being forced to by EA). I hated EA before, they should fall off the world and DIE now!
