I currently have a 780Ti 3GB, I can still play games at high-ultra depending on the game, but since getting an Oculus Rift shows the age of my card, would it be enough as an upgrade solely for VR? I also do video editing and I heard rendering will much faster and smoother.

Right now I have a 1080p 75hz monitors and I plan to DSR most games til I get a 4K monitor.

Solution
the video editing is better wit newer nvidia cards if the video editing tool you use, requires nvidia cuda cores, if not, all is done in the cpu

atm for 4k gaming, this is the only gpu capable of doing it well

vr should be benefit form the cpu power of it too, to make it more stable, for both uses it is viable, for video editing, you need adobe premier and set it to use nvidia cuda cores to help improve all the process
