Buying a 1070 or Ti in jan is the Ti worth the extra money?

Yes, it definitely is. You can find aftermarket 1070s that would cost that premium alone, but even an FE 1070Ti would outperform them.

I wouldn’t do a FE for any reason, unless you like the sound of a jet engine.

Get a 2- or 3-fan version.

You live in the UK, it's not a hot country. You can tinker with the fan curve using Afterburner. Further, the FE blows the heat out, which is nice for the rest of the system, in terms of temps. Chip quality will matter just as much with temps, in regards to your boost clocks. So, cross your fingers, and pray for a good GPU.

I’ll caveat - if you have a small form factor case with one or two fans, then yes the FE is a reasonable choice to vent heat.

If you have a mid size case or bigger and good airflow, the heat dumped into the case is functionally irrelevant. You will not lower the lifespan of components or cause an issue with the cpu.

Guys I’m currently at a micro atx but I’m switching to an itx mid-late 2018 that’s why I’m looking at FE cards.
