Getting most out of quad core

thanx for all the advise but no one has still answered my question yet about how to get most out of my core 2 quad

i thought i did months ago on this thread:

only if the software is written for them. I know GTA IV recommends a quad core to run it at best performance. other than that i do not know what other software is out there that would utilize all 4 cores

so in plain English there is very little to no software to take advantage of your quad core. you want to take advantage of it them write a program that will because no one else is yet

Enable it to use all four core's when booting.

Sell it and get a Q6600.

Overclock it.

oh and flakes, last time I checked 33% was a third not a quarter.

yes i know that, but the 33% was the speed it was running at, task manager

Enigma's statement is based on marketing bullsh*t. 4 processors are 4 processors are 4 processors. It makes no difference.

I recommend disregarding the entire subject and instead looking at performance listings and the benchmarks relevant to your intended usage. Though in the case of games, you're far far more likely to be limited by graphics than processor power anyhow.

Buy the best components you can for your budget.


In the case of a Gaming rig, balance your expenditures towards superior graphics.

not really as if u spend more in gpu then u will start getting bottlenecks
