Getting new internet but Comcast said they can only put the internet it on a certain side of the house.

I am currently in the process of getting new internet with Comcast after switching from an old crappy line from 10 years ago. They installed the Xfinity box outside my house while I was at work, outside of a room where i don't want the modem to be. They said it was the only place where they could put the box. I really need Ethernet in another room which was where i planned to keep the modem and router, but they said it can't be in that room. I think that's bullshit because on my old line we had the DSL box in a completely different room that was away from the cable box. So if there is a way to move the location of the modem away from the box I would like to tell them, because they seem like it's impossible. Or any way for me to get Ethernet in that room would be great. They haven't installed the modem or setup the internet yet they have just installed the box outside my house. I just need Ethernet in one room (the one with my desktop) because i need the absolute best connection. I don't want to settle for a wireless connection across the house like my old internet.

Get a switch and thread the ethernet wires to the other room. You'd be best keeping the box outside your house, so it gets the strongest signal, and you get what you paid for. It probably is possible to place it else where, but the signal strength may not be all that good. How many wired ethernet devices do you want to hook up?

What do you mean by threading the Ethernet wires? (I want to hook up 3 devices for now btw)

If all devices that need Ethernet are in the same room it is easy.
You will need one long Ethernet cable .Three shorter Ethernet cables and a 4 port switch.
Run the long Ethernet cable from the room with the modem to the room with the computers.
Connect it to the switch.
Now run a cable to your three devices From the switch.
The long Ethernet cable can be ran inside or outside if you do not have a basement/crawlspace or attic to run the wire in.

ok so i get what i have to do now the tricky part is gonna be running the cable through the house. I'll try to do it through the attic/crawlspace in my house. Should i just tell the guys at Comcast to do it, or are there people that do this kind of stuff.

Most handymen or any electricial will do it for a fee.
But a drill with a 1/2 inch bit is all that is really needed. and a couple of RG6 split wall bushings to place around the wire to seal the hole.
