Not to mention that blurb from a while back that implied that the HSI bridge could potentially lower the life expectancy because of voltage issues. It probably wouldn't influence my buying decision- I'm more concerned about the card being inflated $30+ to a mediocre price/performance position. If they could get the AGP version down to $200 or less, I'd be shouting from the rooftops.

However, with nForce4 just around the corner, I'd be loath to buy another AGP card when I have that upgrade planned for next summer...

Actually I think you're thinking about VIA's G.E.A.R. bridge, which is the one that runs AGP off of PCIe and causes life-expectancy issues. I haven't heard anything about nV's HSI bridge doing that.

As for the price that's right, they F'in Suck! But if you think that's bad, think of the prices here. ($250CDN for the Cheapest and $290-299 average for the GF6600GT), that's $207-250US. They are seriously Screwing Candians with the stupid marketing of 'round it to the nearest x99 or x49' system. Few people are going to price them at $239 CDN (~$200US) or something nice and similar ($229CDN anyone?). I hate that kinda BS!

EDIT: Oh yeah, PS, those were PCIe prices, the GF6600 AGP here are $309-349 CDN ($290US)!

You could be right. So far they are scarce or coming soon on most sites. I thought I saw that a while back about the $199, but maybe $239 is the list on the AGP. I still wouldn't buy one for $239 when GF6800's have been cheaper AR or $250 without rebates.

Your prices are just aweful. Actual selling price is everything to me. I'll often spend a little more if the performance boost is large. All I'd have to see is a sub $300 X800 pro or 6800Gt and I'd quickly forget about $230 6600GT's and $250 6800's. I am tempted to see if Compusa will match the 25 % off PNY list price that Bestbuy has going now. That would mean $225 for a 6800, and $300 for a 6800GT. Both in stock.

No BFG, but they have the PNY for $399. If they will match that 25% off list, that is where the $300 comes in. I'd rather have a BFG also, but for $300 I'd settle for a PNY.
