GFWL detecting pirated windows copy.

Can GFWL detect if you have a pirated windows copy? I keep debating my friend that it can and that he can get banned on his games (I read it on other posts). What do you guys think?
Please put an end to this tedious debate, we have been going on at it for 3hrs now straight.

To my limited knowledge GFWL does to a check for a legit copy of windows. I don't know if/how it bans the games and whatnot, but your illegal copy of windows should show as a pirate copy from that point on.

Closing this as I don't see it going anywhere good.
