Hi,

So currently I'm running AMD FX 6300 6 core 3.5Ghz processor with a Nvidia 650 and 15GB ram and the PSU I'm using for that is a Corsair CX430. I've just recently bought a Nvidia Gigabyte 1070 windforce and the gigabyte website recommends 500 Watt PSU, I was just wondering whether a 430 would be enough (It does have a 8 pin connector required for this graphics card). Is the 500 watt recommendation a minimum?

Yes, a 500 Watts is the minimum recommended. That CX430 is a low-end PSU model as well, not the very best from Corsair either. Kindly upgrade your PSU, even though it might work. Don't take any RISK.

I took a quick look at amazon and noticed these fairly cheap PSU's but when it comes to PSU's I'm not sure which is the best to go for.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-VS...ords=650w+psu&qid=1559649056&s=gateway&sr=8-3

https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-WHITE...ords=650w+psu&qid=1559649056&s=gateway&sr=8-7

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aerocool-I...rds=650w+psu&qid=1559649056&s=gateway&sr=8-17

If none of the above are good in your opinion, which make/model would you recommend?

Those are just average PSU models. Not the very best, and I wouldn't power up a GTX 1070 with any of these units. Try to get some other high-end PSU model. What's your Budget for the PSU ?

I had a feeling you'd say that,

How about this one?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Certified-Hybrid-Modular-Supply/dp/B06WVWXPVZ/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1MG2Y9PXTDR6Q&keywords=gold+certified+psu&qid=1559649559&s=gateway&sprefix=psu+gold+cer,aps,131&sr=8-2&th=1

Also preferably around £50 but willing to go to £100 if the difference in PSU's is worth the extra. I'm not really looking for the "very best", Aslong as the PSU is stable and capable of handling the load and will last a few years without risk of damage to the rest of the PC I'd be happy. This CX430 I've got atm has lasted 4 years so far with no problems at all so I'm quite happy with corsair build quality even if the CX430 is considered low end.

Yup, that's a very decent high-quality PSU. Buy this PSU if you can afford it. No worries using this Model. PSU is the last component you might want to cheap out on, or skimp.

Power supplies are an imperative part of your system that should not be taken lightly. Throwing in a budget PSU could result in poor power efficiency or even a wrecked system. Don't SKIMP on the PSU,, since this is the MOST important PC component. I can't stress this enough.
