hello all

i have a 7n400 pro2 w/ AMD burton 2600+, 333 Mhz bus

and i want to buy a 2x512 ram pc3200 DDR400

i would like to buy kingston ram at this shop:
http://www.computershop.pisa.it/Area_Kingston/articoli.asp?categoria=14&sezione=prod

Kingston KVR400X64C3A/512 - DDR400 CL3 (3-3-3) 512 MB 56 euro

Kingston KVR400X72C3A/512 - DDR400 ECC CL3 (3-3-3) 512 64 euro

but i have some questions:

1 - will ECC ram work on my MoBo ? *VERY IMPORTANT*
2 - will worth buying *this* ECC than NO ECC ?
2 - witch advantages i will have buying this kind of RAM than others OEM ? I
search for a little bit of stability (i don't overclock)

i kindly ask to you a quick reply because i will go to buy next week.

tank you all in advance

Rado

I have the same board ver2. I installed two Kingston PC3200/400 512 sticks
and had some instability. The board only supports 2.5v and Kingston was
2.6v. I switched to corsair 2.5v and everything calmed down. Then I took a
chance and put one of the Kingston 512's back in and boosted the voltage by
0.1 to 2.6v. Now I have a gig and a half and it's been running great for a
couple of months. Using an AMD3200+/400. Please let me know what kind of
temps. you are getting with this board. Mine reports the CPU at 51C to 55C.
I have plenty of fans and a good HS fan.

I have the same mb and CPU. The manual does not mention ECC memory; I
would assume it is not supported. That price (56 euro) converts to
about $72 USD. I just bought the same type for less than $40. I doubt
that you will have any stability problems with a less expensive brand.
Remember that you will have to set the multiplier switches to 11x on
the motherboard and manually set the FSB speed to 166 and memory speed
to 100% to set the resulting memory speed to 333 - that is the only
speed that that particular processor supports. The BIOS will try to
set it at 400.
