I'm at a loss as to what I'm supposed to do with this card that's included with my Gigabyte motherboard. Am I supposed to install it as part of the setup, or is this an option to be used with certain power supplies? I don't understand this.

The motherboard's basic hardware will be a 3.2 gig P4 800meg FSB chip with 1 meg L2 cache, 2 gigs of PC3200 Geil Golden Dragon ram, an ATI Fire GL T2 128 meg card, and an Antec TruePower 480 power supply.

Do I benefit from installing this DPS2 card on the motherboard with this arrangement, will it have no effect on this setup, or am I better off without it?

Thanks for any info on this.

You can use it or not. If you use it, it's supposed to supply 6 phase regulated power to your CPU. This should allow very stable high overclocks in theory. I would use it, but it will interfere with some oversized heatsinks. If you don't use it it's worth 50 bucks on E-Bay.
