My bios says that my memory is running at 1334 mhz and I have 1600 mhz ram? What is causing this and how do I fix it. My bios is up to date with the f5 flash.
This is quite common, You can change the speed back up to 1600MHz in bios and it is safe and won't damage your memory module. If you wish to overclcok it back up to speed just put the volts to 1.5V and tweak the speed to 1600MHz. That should work fine and this problem is quite common, after that the speed should be back to 1600MHz.
What set of DRAM do you have, if it's the rig in your sig, see if the advanced section of the BIOS and look for EOCP or DOCP if there enable it and select 1600, if not manually set freq to 1600, DRAM timings to spec for the set and set DRAM voltage manually to 1.5
I guess the multiplier was like 6.67 and i tweaked it to 8 and it said that would be 1600mhz and saved and exited and then it said failure to boot so i went back in and changed it to 1334 again
you'll have to set the Frequency to 1600MHz manually and the volts should already be at 1.5, because 1334 is 1.5V as well. Is it 1333 or 1334? what's the maximum speed that your motherboard supports?
ok you should be able to go to 1600MHz then easily, do you know what kind of voltage the board is putting out? is it saying 1.5 or is it below that and unchangeable?
