Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6

ASUS P5N32-E SLI LGA 775

So I'm particuarly fond of the gigabyte seeing it doesn't seem to have as many DOA problems, not cooling attachment problems (from what I've read the ASUS has some components that limit what you can attach). Anyway I checked the gigabyte compatibility and it supports only 2 brands of 2 gb RAM sticks, brands that I'm not comfortable with, while it does support a lot of crucial and corsair, but no 2Gb sticks. The ASUS supports even less, it doesn't say it supports ANY 2Gb sticks.

So my question: Will the Gigabyte accept 2Gb stick RAM (for a total of 8Gb RAM) from corsair or crucial or do I need to purchase these brands that don't sound too good to me? Are these qualified vendor lists just suggestions? Or can I make it work?

If a RAM like Crucial isnt in the motherboards supported lists, it doesnt mean the motherboard wont support it
OCZ isnt in P5K-E WIFI (my board) supported RAM list , but as u see i have OCZ RAM in it and it works very fine , so dont worry , u can use Corsair or Crucial on that board

Maziar has it...

The only ones that are listed in the supported list are the ones that Asus or Gigabyte and used in the board and tested... just cause it aint on the list dont mean its not supported. Main things too look for compatibility is speed ie 800, 1066 and voltage, make sure the voltage rating on the stick is within the mobo's range... after that you should really be right.
